An Unforgettable Experience

I initially arrived in Kathmandu alone and nervous, not knowing if the next three weeks were going to be the greatest experience of my life or an absolute nightmare. Gladly, I have had the most amazing journey with the greatest people ever and really wish to come back again in the future.

I was greeted at the airport by Bishal who asked how my flight was and assured me that I would have a great time while in Nepal. Then, when joined by Kajal (fellow volunteer and emotional support for the next 3 weeks) we set off for the Lighthouse.

Spending time in the Lighthouse is so chilling as it just feels like a home away from home. Never did I think I could become so close to a group of amazing people that I had only known for a few days but being in the Lighthouse is like being in a family. After a few days of sightseeing around Kathmandu, Prakash and Bishal drove us to Chitwan to go white water rafting and to go on our jungle safari which were some of the best highlights of my trip here.
Overall, I have had such a great experience in Nepal and have met so many amazing friends. Hopefully, I’ll be able to come back soon as I shall miss this beautiful country when I leave. I would advise anybody thinking of coming to Nepal to seriously consider going with VCD Nepal. They have done everything in their power to make sure I have had the best time possible and are genuinely the most caring team of people I have met in a long time.
