If you are doing your PhD thesis about Nepal or want to research something that is related to Nepali culture, people and geography VCD Nepal offers an unique research opportunities in Nepal to international researchers, UNI Professors, graduates, post-graduates and individuals.
Our Nepal research opportunities provides you a local coordinator to assist you with your research topic. Our local coordinator will make arrangement according to your needs and preferences. VCD Nepal research coordinators are from various background and have wide knowledge about the country, people and culture. We can arrange multiple language speaking coordinator according to your preference. We encourage you to provide us your academic details and the reason of research. Nepal research opportunity runs all year round. The duration of the program would be 1 to 20 weeks.
Generally you will wake up around 7am and your typical day starts with a cup of morning tea. Main meal is served around 9:30am. After meal head to the research project. Depending on the research topic you have chosen your research hour could be different day to day. In your free time you can help your hosting family for household and agricultural works. It is the best way to immerse in to Nepali culture.

Generally your accommodation and meals will be arranged at a local family within your working area. You will be provided a private room with basic furniture. Meals is served 3 times a day. Dal Bhat Tarkari (Rice, Lentils and vegetables) is the most common food cooked in Nepali homes. Most of the families in urban area have Wi-Fi at home, western toilets and hot shower but in our countryside placement only limited access of internet. There are pan toilets and normal shower. If your research program is multi city in that case your accommodation and food will be arranged at the guest house or the tea houses.
Water- You can either purchase bottled water at local tea shops or ask with your hosting family for filtered or boiled water.
